According to joydaddymultimedia, a 15-year-old high school graduate has committed suicide at Homoa Asafo in Agon East.
The late Isaac Arhin, known as Yaw, killed himself because of a decision made by his family for him to learn a vocational skill rather than attend Senior high school.
Eric Owusu Amponsah, the regional regional correspondent from Bryt FM, said the deceased got aggregate 20 in the Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) exam and was received at Kwahu Tafo in the Eastern Region.
The deceased sister, Georgina Buabeng, reported the ordeal and said that the deceased had returned from Tema in the last three days, where she had lived with her aunt, without even informing them of his journey.
“Yaw told me that he got aggregate 20 and had received the Kwahu Tafo school, but his aunt wanted him to learn skills rather than continuing education because she was financially unstable to support his education.”

“I told him that his mother went to Volta and that he had to be patient for her return so that we could solve the problem because I could not support his education because of my poor health,” she told the writer.
“He left home at 6 in the morning without informing me, and I called to find out where he was after complaining about hunger early on, and told me he went to see my aunt in Nsuaem.”
“Unfortunately, I went home to find out that he had locked the door to our room, so I called him several times without answering, then decided to look out the window with the help of a neighbour. Unfortunately, I saw him executed to death with a rope,” Georgina Buabeng said.
Robert Abeiku Ansah, the Assembly Member of Agona Asafo’s constituency area, linked the deceased’s actions to the inability of the family to deal with the problem that caused the boy’s death.
However, he advised parents to advise their children on how to deal with problems, especially the current SHS placement system, to elude terrible cases.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased is being kept in a morgue as the police began an investigation into the matter.
